When Nursery furniture and pushchair superstars, Cosatto, called the hotline, we put our pants on the outside of our trousers and zoomed to the rescue!

Cosatto were in the process of putting together their new brochure when they needed our help. Saving the world from boring baby stuff isn't easy and with the Christmas deadline looming things weren't looking good. Not only did they need a bright, colourful and fantastic looking brochure producing, they also needed a way of getting it to all the mums and dads in super quick time.

We got straight to it and our own little cardboard engineering super hero designed and developed a mail pack to keep the brochure from any harm. The pack also had to take a sheet of kiss cut stickers to keep the kids amused and price list that that we engineered to fit on the same sheet as the mail pack, keeping those budgets in check. After a few tweaks the rescue plan was in full swing.

As we entered the final week before Christmas, time was running out. With only 4 production days left, proofs were signed off and away we flew. Printed throughout the night then die cut using our in-house facilities, the mail pack and stickers were well on their way.

Our specialist finishing team of stars then took over. Making up pockets, inserting and collating, you wouldn't believe the speed at which they worked. And with still one day to spare, the packs were delivered in record time and Central Colour had saved the day!

With everyone at Cosatto delighted, Central Colour then got to work getting ready to label and distribute the packs as requests came in direct from Cosatto's website. Just another day at the worlds greatest printer......

At Central Colour, we have always taken our Environmental responsibilities seriously, even when deciding on the best press option for us.

We are completely IPA and alcohol free in our print room, ensuring our chemical use is at its minimum.

Not only are our inks vegetable based but all our waste ink is recycled and used for renewable energy. The used ink tins are also recycled and typically end up becoming road signs. Even our coating unit is waster based, ensuring even our luxury finishes are doing their bit to limit their impact on our environment.

Our Plate developer is neutralised, then blended with organic matter, the composite blended is allowed to decompose under regulated conditions. The decomposed matter is then tested by the regulating authority before further blending and distribution. The final Product is used as compost. Over 95% of material is recycled.

With various recycling bins around our factory and offices, we have reduced our waste collection from 6 skips per week down to just 1 skip per week.

Central Colour is currently FSC licenced and are working towards ISO14001. We currently support the World Land trust in their Carbon balanced paper scheme. This gives you the opportunity to carbon balance your printed material and help the World Land Trust in securing more land for conservation and ensuring more carbon is locked in.

In summary, our efforts to reduce our impact on the environment give you the confidence that your printed material is produced with a conscience. You are then able to demonstrate this to your customers by using the relevant logos

Adding that 'special finish' to your print might seem a bit extravagant at the moment but with our inline specialist coatings, it needn't cost the earth.

At Central Colour, we are able to produce a variety of luxury coatings all in line while printing. From High gloss to our very own rubbacoat, these coatings can enhance your products without the price tag that comes with laminating or UV varnishing.

Not only that but all our coatings are water based which makes them much more environmentally friendly.

The nature of the coating means that the sheets come off the press virtually dry so we are able to process these sheets straight away through one of our many in house finishing facilities very quickly.

So whether its a complex die cut piece of packaging or a simple leaflet, at Central Colour we are able to produce the luxury feel at record speed. Running at 16,000 sheets an hour, we can print up to a quarter of a million sheets overnight!.
